HTTPS is now a must for all websites. Google currently marks HTTP pages as “Not secure” if they have password or credit card fields. The search giant recently announced that starting in October 2017, Chrome will show the “Not secure” warning when users enter data on an HTTP page, and on all HTTP pages visited in Incognito mode.
This means if your website has ANY place where someone has to enter information such as their name, email, and/or phone number, then a secure site is imperative. For instance if you have a contact form or a sign up form for a newsletter, you must have an SSL certificate to avoid being labeled as “Not Secure.”
